Abstract

Under National Highway Cooperative Research Program (NCHRP) Project 1-37A, research was carried out to develop a new pavement design guide to supersede the 1993 guide and the previous AASHTO interim guides. This was termed the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG, also called M-E PDG). The extensive documentation of the MEPDG may be reviewed online at https://onlinepubs.trb.org/onlinepubs/archive/mepdg/ guide.htm. The main chapters of the guide may be viewed online, but cannot be downloaded or printed. The appendices may be downloaded and printed. The MEPDG documentation table of contents is shown in Table 10.1. There is quite a bit of redundancy in the documentation, but this is probably appropriate, since a user may only be referring to one section at a time.
