Abstract

The use of ecofriendly strategies such as the use of Trichoderma, Pseudomonas and Bacillus isolated from chrysanthemum rhizosphere were explored as an alternative to chemical fungicides. Trichoderma viride (Tv1), Pseudomonas fluorescens (Pf1) and Bacillus subtilis (Bs10) effectively inhibited the growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. chrysanthemi to an extent of 77.0, 59.6 and 48.3%, respectively over control under in vitro conditions. Neem cake at 10% concentration recorded 46.7% reductions in mycelial growth of F.o. f. sp. chrysanthemi. Among the systemic fungicides tested, the combination product carbendazim 12% + mancozeb 64% inhibited the fungal growth completely at all the four concentrations (500, 1000, 1500 & 2000 ppm) followed by Azoxystrobin.
