Wątki rosyjskie w publicystyce Józefa Łobodowskiego

The article deals with Russian motifs in Jozef Łobodowski’s emigre journalist oeuvre. The observations draw upon selected sketches, essays and reviews printed from the 1950 onwards in various periodicals – particularly in the Parisian “Kultura”, but also in the London journals “Wiadomości” [News] and “Tydzien Polski” [The Polish Weekly]. Łobodowski’s journalist texts are analysed as representative of the emigration “Eastern program”, supportive of the idea of Polish-Ukrainian-Russian dialogue, promoted in the “Kultura” milieus and the related Literary Institute in Paris. The article also analyses the journalist’s stance on the “Russian question”, his evaluation of the Russian emigration and its anti-Soviet aspirations. Two features of Łobodowski’s journalism on the Russian question are primarily highlighted: a clear exposition of his interests in Russia, its literature, poetry and culture, as well as his open resentment against the imperialist Russia, both tsarist and Soviet.
