Abstract
The main focus of this master thesis on the subject of „Costume reconstruction and a costume map inspired by the film deals with the analysis of the costume design of the film from 2020. The theoretical part of the thesis includes an analysis of the historical period between 1795 and 1820, defining the visual characteristics of women's and men's clothing from the early 19th century and a brief review of the work of writer Jane Austen and costume designer in charge for designing the costumes. The following is a detailed analysis of the costumes by characters that served as the inspiration for the art portfolio. An analysis of the clothing from the period of 1815 and an analysis of the costumes worn by the main character Emma approached the experimental part with the aim of realizing an art map and one selected costume.
