Abstract
This paper, considering a simple road network, concludes one origin-destination pair, two-route network and a diverge and a merge, analysis some consequences of queue spillback, proposes exact formulas for traffic flow patterns, and two typical oscillation solutions are obtained, one of which is decreasing and the other is periodic. In addition, this paper also analyzes the impact of merge road traffic capacity change on the whole network queue spillback.
