The development analyses the provisions of the Council Directive of the European Union of 12 June 1989. introducing measures to encourage improvements in the safety and health of workers at work (89/391/EEC), which lay down the basic principles for ensuring the safety and health at work of workers in the territory of the Member States of the European Union (EU). The mechanisms provided for by the Directive to ensure the application of the basic principles introduced by its provisions have been examined. On the basis of the analysis carried out, conclusions and suggestions are drawn.
