Math Education and Math in Education

This chapter covers the problems of mathematical education and what we think can be done about them. We begin by contrasting learning math with learning reading. We move on to Math Problem World and its detachment from reality. We then shift to teaching suggestions. From there we discuss how math is used in education in teaching and evaluating students. We finish with a discussion of how people can reclaim the lost inheritance of mathematics.
