Abstract

Objective: To explore the clinical effect of lens capsules tension reducing capsulorhexis and \nconventional capsulorhexis in the white cataract phacoemulsification. Methods: A total of \n68 patients (76 eyes) with white cataract who were admitted in our hospital from June, 2011 \nto June, 2016 were included in the study and divided into the experiment group (n=34, 36 \neyes) and the control group (n=34, 40 eyes) according to the difference of intraoperative \ncapsulorhexis. All the patients were performed with cataract phacoemulsification in combined \nwith intraocular lens implantation. The patients in the experiment group were performed with \nlens capsules tension reducing capsulorhexis, while the patients in the control group were \nperformed with conventional capsulorhexis. The integrity of the anterior capsule capsulorhexis, \nthe degree of corneal endothelium edema, the intraocular lens deviation, uncorrected visual \nacuity, and corneal endothelial cell count in the two groups were compared. Results: A total \nof 34 eyes (94.44%) in the experiment group and 35 eyes (87.50%) in the control group \nsuccessfully completed continuous annular capsulorhexis, and there was no significant \ndifference between the 2 groups. The number of patients whose uncorrected visual acuity was \ngreater than 0.5 increased 1 d-6 months after operation, and that in the experiment group was \nsignificantly higher than that in the control group. The difference of intraocular lens deviation \nrates between the 2 groups at different times after operation was not significant. The corneal \nendothelial cell count 1 d-6 months after operation in the 2 groups was significantly decreased \nwhen compared with before operation, but the difference between the 2 groups was not \nsignificant. The number of eyes without edema in the experiment group 1d after operation was \nsignificantly higher than that in the control group, and the number of eyes with grade Ⅱ edema \nwas significantly less than that in the control group. Conclusions: The method of reducing \ncapsulorhexis can make white cataract patients get better vision after operation, and reduce the \ndegree of corneal edema, with higher clinical application value.
