Abstract

This report gives results of a 1975-76 survey of marketing, farm supply, and related service cooperatives in the United States. Total gross business volume for cooperatives amounted to $55.9 billion, while total net business amounted to $40.1 billion. Total number of cooperatives and cooperative memberships declined during the same period. In net value of combined marketing, farm supply, and related service volume, California continued in first place with 9.8 percent of total net business, followed by Iowa with 7.5 percent of the total, and Minnesota with 7.3 percent.
