Abstract
Abstract Data on the life history and morphology of the larvae of the fly genus Rainieria are presented, viz. R. hennigi Krivosheina et Krivosheina, 1996 and R. latifrons (Loew, 1870). The larvae inhabit the bark of damaged and weakened trees. The main diagnostic characters of the larvae are listed. The larvae of this two species differ in the structure of the anterior and posterior spiracles and the cephalopharyngeal skeleton.
