Abstract

Modelica1 is a freely available language to model the dynamic behavior of technical systems based on schematics. This chapter gives an overview of the language features, free and commercial Modelica libraries, as well as symbolic algorithms needed to transform the high-level description of Modelica into a form that is suited for a numerical integration algorithm.
