Abstract
There is considerable confusion concerning the species of Sarcocystis in chickens. The rst reports of Sarcocystis infection in chickens were from Hungary, and the parasite was named Sarcocystis horvathi.1450,1451 Sarcocysts were up to 1 mm long, the sarcocyst wall 1.8-2.7 μm thick, but the bradyzoites were not described.
