Abstract

Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) is a multifunctional cytokine belonging to the transforming growth factor superfamily. TGFB proteins are made by all white blood cell lineages. It is a multipotent growth factor affecting cell differentiation, tissue repair, cell proliferation, matrix production and apoptosis.
