Abstract

In this chapter, the many facets and ramifications of Network Access Control (NAC)/Network Access Protection (NAP) [1] will be addressed. NAC represents Network Admission Control by Cisco [2] and Microsoft’s version is called NAP. The other security vendors simply refer to it as network access control. Specifically, the topics covered will include Kerberos, 802.1X, the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), and enterprise WLAN security.
