Abstract
With the increasing installed capacity of wind farms, the stability and the security operation of regional grids, which wind farms connect to, are giving a growing concern. Due to the stochastic variability of the wind energy output, the high level of wind energy penetration will lead to grid voltage fluctuations, and the voltage and reactive power problems caused by gridconnected wind farms has become one of the most prominent problems for network operations.
