Abstract
This article is devoted to the investigation of lightning protection of 110 kV overhead power line with composite supports. The aim is to determine the lightning resistance of an overhead line with composite supports by comparing the number of line breaks caused by lightning with a similar parameter for conventional support types. The concept of lightning resistance of overhead lines and peculiarities of line design, on which this parameter depends, are given. I calculated the number of line breaks in lightning strikes in different parts of the overhead line for three types of supports - composite, metal and reinforced concrete.
