Abstract
Design thinkers have a number of fundamental ways of looking at the world around them and they see different possible solutions for design challenges. This chapter discusses six fundamental attitudes with which design thinkers can apply design thinking in their studies, work or daily life. When implementing design thinking, six fundamental attitudes are important: think flexibly, work integrally, empathize, cooperate, imagine, and experiment. Design thinking puts the customer first when developing new products and services. Converging is working from several solutions or answers to a single solution or answer. Wanting to achieve this too quickly can lead to a forced choice between options. Analysis comes down to taking something complex apart and then turning it into digestible parts to yield to a greater understanding. Design thinkers are known for their optimism and positive attitude towards problems. Design thinkers can learn about the fundamental attitude of cooperate by adopting a cooperative mindset.
