Survey of auqaf

Chapter 2 of the Waqf Act 1995 under sections 4 to 8 deals with the provisions regarding survey of waqf properties, appointment of survey commissioner and determination of the issues, such as whether a particular property is a waqf property or not, and, if it is, whether it is Shia Waqf or a Sunni Waqf, publication of the list of Waqf in official gazette, etc. As per the Amendment Act of 2013 it is mandatory on the part of the State Government to appoint Survey Commissioner of Waqf to conduct the survey of the waqf properties and publish the same in the official gazette. The expenditure to be incurred towards the publication of the waqf institutions and their properties shall be borne by the State Government.
