Abstract
This research aims to present research material fundamental to the proper understanding of the Muay Thai training and the process of training experience, in response to the degenerating, biased point of view on the culture of martial arts, through studying the essential meaning of the Muay Thai trainee`s engagement in training activities. For this, the analysis was conducted through the phenomenological approach, one of the qualitative research methods, in order to understand the essence of the experience. The conclusion can be laid out as the following: Firstly, Muay Thai training activities were deep-seated in everyday life as an important portion. Secondly, we can confirm that Muay Thai training activities are not simply leisure activities to maintain health, but has a deeper meaning. Thirdly, we were able to find that the training process the long period of discipline had accompanied the growth of the research participants.
