Abstract

Alteration of enzyme activities -relac.ed to neurot:rannd.1:terbiosynthesia in the aupe-rio-r cervical.ganglion (SCG) and adrenal gland oI the -rat was examined following the administration of ganglion blocking agents.By transsecting p-reganglionic nerve trunks of the SCG, choline acetylt-r8J\sfe-rase (ChAc) and adenylate cyclase (A-c) activities of tha SCG showed a significant dec-reaae, whereas the activity of t}'l:osine hyd-roxylase {'l'-OB), was oot significantly altered.On the otbe.rband, the continuous administration of hexamethonium {C,; 50mg/kg, twice daily, every 12 h-r) induced a t-ransient but significant inc-rease of T-011 and A-c activities in the SCG at: 3-S days
