Abstract
People have been using maps for centuries, and with the advent of computers, a new way of displaying maps emerged. With advancement of technology, the amount of geospatial data and the ability to capture said data is always increasing. It is then possible to conduct very complex analyses and visualize the results of those analyses. To carry out such analyses and handle the geospatial data we use geographic information system (GIS). In this bachelor thesis GeoTools Java GIS library was used. Using said library the workflow of working with geospatial data was shown and a program for visualisation of KML geospatial data was implemented. Through the thesis the challenges of working with geospatial data, such as coordinate reference systems and formats of geospatial data, have been depicted and the process of creating and processing geospatial data has been described.
