Abstract
This chapter introduces in a condensed form some of the basics of how genetic information determines the structure of proteins. Proteins are molecules of major interest in biology as they are necessary for the functioning of cells. The topics covered include DNA and genes, the synthesis of proteins from genes, and the four levels of protein structure. Techniques for the determination of the 3D structure of proteins are also introduced.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
