Impact of Green Belt on the Development and Development Direction of the Metropolitan Area : Focusing on the 3rd New City Promotion Policy and Compact City

Abstract

Purpose: This paper describes how to understand the value of green belts and how to plan future cities using compact cities to prevent the expected loss due to damage to green belts according to the 3rd New City Policy, which was recently started to stabilize housing prices in Seoul. Method: Through the previous research data, the green belt was analyzed from the urban policy, economic, service and environmental aspects, and the value of the green belt was analyzed. In addition, through the national environmental assessment map, the problems of the 3rd new city built and damaged by the green belts of the 1st and 2nd grades were grasped. Degrading the green belt, which has a considerable number of environmental values, and developing a new city is a loss in all aspects, and we must endeavor to recognize the value of the green belt and continue to be a future asset. Result: In this paper, we talk about the density of cities and the increase in floor area ratio in order to achieve the development of new cities and the conservation of green belts. The need for a compact city, a solution, could be derived. Currently, compact cities are being planned and developed according to the characteristics of countries around the world, and Korea is also in need of developing compact cities suitable for Korea. I hope there will be governmental support and architects" support.
