Abstract
The field of talent management has developed strongly over the past few decades, but like any relatively new and burgeoning field there are gaps and limitations that exist. In this chapter, we consider several of the most considered themes within the literature to date and what future researchers may focus their attentions on to advance our existing knowledge base. Moreover, we consider aspects around the changing nature of work and what this may mean for talent management, and we pose several research questions that are worthy of scholarly attention. The chapter highlights the need for substantial improvements in the quality and sophistication of underpinning research designs if we expect continued advancement in knowledge and understanding to arise.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
