Abstract

Many reinforced concrete buildings in metropolitan regions lying in dynamic seismic zones, mayundergo moderate to severe compensation during ground motions. This was important to research, the actualquake examination of model with shear wall during earthquake in order to forecast the distribution of forcesand deformations. Current research objective to investigate the usefulness of reinforced concrete shear wallin the buildings which are prone to seismic loads. The shear wall is an alternate structural form for resistingthe earthquake forces. In this study, G+10 building seismic analysis is carried out by inserting shear wall &without inserting shear wall by applying response spectrum procedure according to IS: 1893.Theexamination is completed through ETABS. It is accomplished that, insertion of shear wall in modeldecreases % reinforcement in columns and increases the horizontal toughness of model, thus performingefficiently by withstanding horizontal forces induced by an earthquake.
