Abstract

Skin hyperpigmentation disorders are a concern for human beauty. They can be due to different reasons, including excessive exposure to sunlight, aging, and hormonal impairment during pregnancy. Kojic acid is a good tyrosinase inhibitor that is applied to treat hyperpigmentation. It has recently been shown that kojic acid has a skin lightening effect in vitro and in vivo tests. A range of skin lightening creams of kojic acid has been used with varying degrees of success.
