Abstract
This chapter showcases the work of practitioners new to and well versed in chrysotype. It provides insight into people&s;s creative practice, how they work with the process and their reasons for pairing chrysotype with a particular photographic concept. The artists all have the commendable qualities of sharing information and supporting fellow practitioners. Chrysotype provides a wide range of unique opportunities, besides the claimed permanence due to gold properties. Tone and color control add valuable elements to the communicative and emotional palette, giving new hues and dramatic split tones or subtle nuances even with neutral tints. Chrysotype provides a method of contrast control, which means it’s suitable for a broad collection of negatives, which is a plus for anyone who shoots analogue film. Chrysotype also brings a fascinating cultural breakthrough in providing the idea that improvement in the chemical field of research is conceivable.
