Abstract

Introduction: Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a persistent communication between the aorta and the pulmonary artery beyond the immediate postpartum period. It occurs more frequently in premature infants < 28 weeks gestation or weighing < 1500 mg at birth. PDA closure may occur spontaneously or require medical or surgical treatments. Data on the radiographic bony abnormalities in children who have undergone surgical closure of isolated PDA are limited.
