Abstract

The Corona de Tucson 7 ½' Quadrangle is located in the southeastern margin of the Tucson basin in Pima County, southeastern Arizona. The map area encompasses developed and undeveloped portions of the southern and southeastern suburban fringe of the Tucson metropolitan area. It includes the northwest flank of the Santa Rita Mountains and the piedmont that extends west and northwest toward the Santa Cruz River. Geologic mapping was done under the joint State-Federal STATEMAP program, as specified in the National Geologic Mapping Act of 1992, and was jointly funded by the Arizona Geological Survey and the U.S. Geological Survey under STATEMAP assistance award #G14AC00424. Mapping was compiled digitally using ESRI ArcGIS software.
