Abstract

The article provides information on bushfire arson, a type of crime in Australia. It focuses on limited information behind the cause, prevention and treatment of the crime in Australia. It further discusses the involvement of children, adolescents and some adults in the crime due to psychopathology and trauma such as child abuse. The article presents information showing that the risk of bush arson is going to escalate in the future including the climate changes resulting in higher temperatures and lower moisture levels. Further information on the steps taken by the government of Australia for the prevention of this crime is presented.
