Abstract

The Department of Agricultural Research \nServices (DARS) in partnership with the \nInternational Crop research Institute for the \nSemi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), has released \nthree improved sorghum varieties; Pilira \n3, Pilira 4 and Pilira 5. These new varieties \nreplace Pilira 1 and Pilira 2, released in 1993, \nand have since been the only improved \nsorghum varieties available in Malawi.
