Abstract

This chapter describes the essential features of psychology’s ethical code (APA, 1992). Historically, it was the first ethical code established by a mental health profession and has served as the model for the ethical codes developed by counseling, psychiatry, and social work. This chapter will provide an opportunity for readers to assess how their values relate to the ethical code of the profession of psychology.
