Abstract
Wood is a hard tissue below the bark of a tree and is of high commercial importance in the wood industry used for the manufacture of furniture and other domestic uses. Wood quality depends on anatomical structure and chemical composition. The species selected for high cellulose and hemicellulose may be recommended for the paper manufacture which may be used for the fabrication of strong furnitures and some for paper. Woody species exhibit variability in percentages of neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber, lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose, and fiber. The species can be selected on the basis of the high values of each component. The chemical composition of 0.5 g of dried milled wood samples will be analyzed for sequential neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber using the ANKOM Fiber Analyzer Apparatus, and lignin following the guidelines and detailed technical procedures recommended by the Analyzer Operator’s Manual.
