Abstract

The new economy generates conditions for creating innovative, digital business models. These models are based on technological solutions which use the Internet environment to create specific business ecosystems. These ecosystems allow for the incorporation of new solutions supported by new socio-economic concepts. Concepts such as the Sharing Economy, the Circular Economy, and Big Data provide the opportunity to create digital business models functioning through digital platforms. Modern solutions are technological but usually refer to the issues of improving people’s quality of life and building new functionalities that would not be possible to design without information technology. Digitalisation in this form gives rise to the emergence of new business ventures based on digital business models. The purpose of the second chapter is to indicate the new forms of designing digital business models based on the innovative concepts of the new economy.
