Abstract
Distributed generationoffers alternate solution for ever increasing energy demand due to islanding detection of distributed generations for grid connected distributed generation is very important. This paper presents comprehensive review of various anti-islanding techniques for grid connected distributed generation. Anti-islanding techniques for the distributed generation are broadly classified as remote islanding detection techniques and local islanding detection techniques. Remote islanding detection techniques are related to islanding detection on the grid side and the local islanding detection techniques are used for islanding detection on the distributed generation side. Local islanding detection techniques are further classified as passiveislanding detection techniques, active islanding detection techniques and hybrid islanding detection techniques. Finally this paper presents merits and demerits for various islanding detection techniques.
