Abstract

Intracerebral hematoma (ICH) is a type of intracranial hemorrhage (bleeding) that occurs within the brain parenchyma. It can occur spontaneously due to hypertension or hemorrhagic stroke and be caused by brain trauma. The main and most common causes of spontaneous intracerebral hematoma are hypertension and amyloid angiopathy. Computed tomography is the method of choice in the diagnosis of acute spontaneous intracerebral hematoma. CT is a computerized reconstruction tomografirane plane of the body. The principle of operation is based on the weakening or attenuation of X-rays passing through the recorded part of the body. Based on neuroimaging computed tomography, supratentorial intracerebral hematomas can be topographically (with respect to the surface of the brain) divided into two groups: deep and cortico-subcortical. It was found that the hematomas, which are located in the deeper structures more often than hematoma on convexity and are more common in younger people. On the other hand, cortic-subcortical localization of intracerebral hematomas are more common in older people and are associated with changes in the blood vessels, such as amyloid angiopathy.
