While some duplication of materials occurs in the papers, the intention was that the paper on " External Trade Policy of the European Community " and the paper on " The Impact of Europe 1992 on the Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa " , would provide an overview of the problems and issues of the European union. Individual papers would then discuss broad economic sectors of the European economy including: " The Implications of European Community (EC) Commercial Policy on Developing Countries " ; " African Primary Product Exports to the EC: Prospects After 1992 " ; and " Issues in Manufacturing Trade and Services " . The papers in this volume were produced as bases for discussions at the seminar.
