THE TRIANGULAR LOVE THEORY THROUGH KATERYNN PARR CHARACTER IN NOVEL ”THE TAMING OF THE QUEEN” BY PHILIPPA GREGORY

Abstract

This term paper discusses about a literary work. The analyzed problem is Triangular love through character Katerynn Parr. It is analyzed by using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concepts applied are: characterization – showing and telling methods, setting, plot, and theme, and for the extrinsic approach, the concept is: Triangular Love theory. This term paper is variety of qualitative research, types of library research, interpretative analysis using the method by collecting data in the form of literary texts from the novel The Taming of The Queen by Philipa Gregory as the primary source and is supported by some of the literatures that relate to the theories, concepts and the relevant definition as the secondary sources. Keywords: Triangular Theory, Social Psychology, Relationship Skripsi ini membahas tema karya sastra berupa novel. Masalah yang dianalisis adalah segitiga cinta pada tokoh Katerynn Parr. Skripsi ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Melalui pendekatan intrinsik diterapkan konsep-konsep: perwatakan, metode langsung dan tidak langsung, latar, alur serta tema; dan untuk pendekatan ekstrinsik digunakan konsep: Teori Segitiga Cinta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ragam kualitatif, jenis penelitian kepustakaan, sifatnya interpretatif/analisis dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa teks karya sastra dari novel yang berjudul “The Taming of the Queen” oleh Philippa Gregory. Sebagai sumber primer dan didukung oleh beberapa literature yang terkait dengan teori, konsep dan definisi yang relevan sebagai sumber sekunder. Kata kunci: Teori Segitiga Cinta, Psikologi sosial, Hubungan
