Abstract
In the present scenario, Distributed Generation (DG) has become very important and its installation by different electrical distribution systems is increasing progressively. The main advantages of installing DGs are the low investment cost, high efficiency, small size and, most significantly the involvement of distributed energy resources while using DGs. However commercial and daily requirement creates challenges for distribution of DGs. The Suitable allocation would ensure the system security and the quality of power supply will not be interrupted by the installment of a new distributed generator. This paper presents a study and analysis of the total system losses and voltage constraints for placement of DGs over different load buses in the standard bus system using MATLAB Simulink environment. Four different scenarios have been studied for the best planning of installing a distributed generator in the system network. They have allowed confirming the electrical assets of introducing DG by solving the distribution planning problem and by improving the power quality of the distribution system.
