This paper looks mainly at urban water problems, including water resources utilization and water quality issues in China. It analyses changes in the characteristics of water consumption and trends in water quality, and discusses the focal point of research in urban water resource management. Focusing on the main problem of urban water resources management, it presents approaches to urban water management and measures to promote the sustainable use of water resources through the construction of a water conservancy information software application, an urban water resource management model, water-saving research and urban water price reform.
