Abstract
Developmental dyslexia is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by reading difficulties. However, there is considerable variability in the types of reading difficulties that children with DD display and evidence that attentional deficits that may be contributing to poor reading ability. This research compared children with reading difficulties (dyslexia) to both age and reading-matched controls on measures examining attention behaviourally, computationally and electrophysiologically. Results revealed that some attentional deficits were unique to dyslexia and that they varied as a function of reading profile. This research can help identify who is likely to present with attentional deficits and inform more targeted treatment.
