Abstract

The main areas of charitable assistance to Russian prisoners of war by residents of Western Siberia during the First World War are identifi and analyzed. On the basis of archival documents and periodical materials, the features of organizing and holding charity events in diff periods of the war are considered. The author concludes that public charity in the region contributed to a signifi improvement in the situation of this category of war victims.
