The anxiety and depression status of college students with type D personality

Abstract

Objective To investigate the anxiety and depression status in college students with type D personality.Methods 448 college students participated in the study.Type D personality and negative emotion were evaluated with DS14 and anxiety and depression scales.Results Compared with the control students,the college students with type D personality showed higher anxiety scores(34.2±7.4,29.5±5.1)and depression scores(37.0±7.6,30.5±5.6),more college students with type D personality experienced anxiety(18.3% vs 2.4%)and depression(30.0% vs 5.4%).Negative affectivity and social inhibition scores positively associated with anxiety and depression levels.Conclusion Type D personality Can influence the mental health of college students. Measures should he taken to monitor the anxiety and depression problems of college snldent8 with type D personality. Key words: Type D personality; Anxiety; Depression
