Abstract

T-lymphicyte subsets in peripheral blood and serum IgG, IgA, IgM, were assessed preand post-operatively in 32 cases, and a group of normal non-operated children as controls. The correlation of the T-lymphocyte subsets and immunoglobulin with the patient's age, the operation magnitude and duration, and the amount of blood transfusion were analysed by means of multiple regression method. The results revealed that T3, T4, T4/T8 ratio, and serum IgG, IgA, IgM decreased, but T8 increased after operation There is a definite influence on immunological function following the different factors in surgical operations in children. Key words: Cells/Immunity; Humoral/Immunity
