Abstract

Objective To present the experience of hypospadias repair using the tubularized double paramedian incision plate urethroplasty. Methods A retrospective review of the last 1 year of tubularized double paramedian incision plate urethroplasty was performed. In 31 patients who had the operations using this procedure, 28 suffered from penile and 3 penoscrotal hypospadias. The average age at surgery was 2.7 years(range: 1.6 to 5.2 years). The mean operative time was 91.6min (range: 80 to 105 min). Results All patients were followed up for more than three months after surgery.Fistulas occurred in 3 patients (9.7%).Meatal stenosis occurred in 2 patients (6.5%).Both responded well to urethral dilatatioa No patient had urethral stricture. Conclusions Tubularized double paramedian incision plate urethroplasty is an effective treatment for hypospadias. The incidence of postoperative complications is low. Key words: Urethra;  Hypospadias
