Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring elderly isolated systolic hypertension. Methods Fifty-four elderly patients with isolated systolic hypertension were taking enalapril 5-10 mg,or in accordance with enalapril 10 mg combinated with hydrochlorothiazide 25 to 50 mg a total of eight weeks, before and after medication for 24 hours ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Results Enalapril combinated with hydrochlorothiazide therapy group and in accordance with enalapril monotherapy group can effectively reduce patients' systolic blood pressure (P < 0.05) and patients' circadian rhythm was restored(P < 0.05).Conclusions The 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure can effectively monitore blood pressure levels in elderly isolated systolic hypertension, and scientifically evaluate the efficacy of antihypertensive drugs. Key words: Hypertention;  Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring;  Enalapril
