Abstract
Objectives To investigate the effectiveness of transobturator tension-free vaginal tape for surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. Methods Sixteen female patients confirmed to have stress urinary incontinence via clinical routine and urodynamic examination were treating with TVT-O operation.TVT-O tape was implanted around mid-urethra via a minimal vaginal incision. Results The mean operation time was 20min and the mean intraoperative bleeding was 18 ml.The mean catheterization time was 16 hours and mean hospital stay was 4 days. All patients were cured and the clinical symptoms disappeared after operation. The clinical symptom of urinary frequency disappeared after symptomatic treatment in 2 cases; and 1 case with the inner thigh pain had not been given treatment; then the symptoms disappeared after 3 days. Conclusions TVT-O is simple, safe, minimally invasive and effective for the surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence. Key words: Urinary Incontinence; Stress; Vagine
