Abstract

Objective To explore the curative effect and safety of acupuncture in zusanli with anisodamine combined with PiKeXin electuary orally on infantile rotavirus colitis. Methods 720 infantile patients suffering from rotavirus colitis were randomly divided into 4 groups. Group A (n=165) were given by routine treatment. Group B (n=170) and C (n=169) were given by PiKeXin electuary orally and acupuncture in zusanli with anisodamine on the basis of routine treatment. Group D (n=216) were given by acupuncture in zusanli with anisodamine combined with PiKeXin electuary orally on the basis of routine treatment. Clinical effects and adverse reactions were observed among 4 groups after 3 days treatment, Results The overall effective rates in group C and group D were significantly higher than that in group A and group B (P<0.01). The apparent effective rates and the negative rates of rotavirus in group D were significantly higher than that in group A(P<0.01), group B(P<0.01) and group C(P<0.05). The recurrent rates in group D was significantly lower than that in group C (P<0.01). There were less adverse reactions among 4 groups. Conclusions Acupuncture in zusanli with anisodamine combined with PiKeXin electuary orally on infantile rotavirus colitis is safe and effective, and it is worth spreading and application in clinic. Key words: Anisodamine;  PiKeXin electuary;  acupuncture;  Rotavirus colitis
