Abstract
Objective To investigate the application effect of modified disposable pants in colonoscopy . Methods Selected 100 patients who accepted the colonoscopy from January to December 2013 , including 50 patients used the modified disposable colonoscopy pants as the observation group and 50 patients used ordinary disposable colonoscopy pants as the control group .Compared the medical waste ( consumption number of cushion), the amount of polluted bed units , the protection of privacy , and the degree of turning freely of patients in the two groups .Results The pollution of bed units ( 2% vs 16%) , skin exposure rate ( 2% vs 96%), degree of turning freely of patients (96%vs 42%), nursing operation satisfaction (84% vs 60%) in observation group were lower than the control group , the differences were statistically significant (χ^2 =84.673 9, 43.325 4,34.081 3,7.142 9, respectively;P〈0.05).Conclusions Application of improved one-off pants of colonoscopy in colonoscopy and observation not only reduce the amount of medical waste generation and bed units the pollution, but also protect the privacy of patients , help patients to turn over more casually and improve patients’ satisfaction. Key words: Colonoscopy; Colonoscopy trousers; Medical waste; Satisfaction
