Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between cytoimmunity and opportunistic infection complicated in HIV/AIDS patients. Methods The level of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ T cells and opportunistic infection were analyzed in 100 HIV/AIDS patients in Xinjiang. Results The level of CD3+ and CD4+ T cells in AIDS companized with opportunistic infection was lower than those without opportunistic infection. The difference between these two groups was significant (t = -2. 073, t = -4. 087, P < 0. 05) , but no significance on CD8+ T cells and CD4+/CD8+ (P > 0. 05). Significant positive correlation was observed between CD3+ and CD4+ T cells (r =0. 481 ,P < 0. 05), either between CD3+ and CD8+ T cells(r = 0. 954, P < 0. 05). The incidence of opportunistic infection in AIDS patients with CD4+ T cells count < 200/μl was higher than those with 200-500/μ1 CD4+ T cells, and the difference was significant(X2 = 17.27 2,P<0.05).The incidence of PCP(27.27%) was the highest, then was toxoplasma(22. 73 %)and TB (13.64%)was the third one in opportunistic infection in AIDS patients with CD4+ T cells count < 200/ μl. Conclusion The occurrence of opportunistic infection was related to the degree of immune suppression. The level of CD4+ T cells was an essential indicator on monitoring the opportunistic infection. The spectrum of disease for opportunistic infection in AIDS patients was diverse in different area and the corresponding prophylactic treatment could be adopted. Key words: HIV; AIDS; Cytoimmunity; Opportunistic infection
